A strong start to the season

The season couldn’t have started in a better way. After weeks of training and refining our systems, the moment finally arrived to put everything we’d worked on into practice. Nerves were running high among players and coaches alike, but we managed to keep our heads cool and our focus sharp as we faced off against Exiles B, a side known for its size and experience.
From the kickoff, it was clear that we had come prepared. Our structured plays added fluidity to our attack and allowed us to repeatedly breach their defensive line. It wasn’t long before the first try came, executed to perfection with a textbook play finished by James.
However, as the first half wore on, our hunger to win began to cloud our judgment. Discipline started to slip, and we found ourselves caught up in scuffles at every ruck and tackle. It took more than a few stern words from our captain and coach to calm the storm and bring us back to the composed, high-quality rugby with which we had opened the match.
Coming into the second half, we had already demonstrated superior mechanics, and now it was time to build on that momentum. With a comfortable lead on the scoreboard, we played with greater freedom. Even our more daring plays were executed with the ease of a training drill. Our attack lines broke through the Exiles’ defense with increasing frequency, and the score kept ticking in our favor.
Our improved fitness also became apparent as the game progressed. Scrums that had been hard-fought early on began to level out, with Stockholm’s forwards showing signs of fatigue while ours held strong. We even managed to steal a couple of their scrums by the end.
All in all, it was a brilliant display of what we’re capable of as a team. It was not individual flair but collective effort that made our superiority so clear on the pitch. Every Uppsala player operated within the framework of our game plan, as if moving as one. The final score: 52–12 in our favor. Tries were evenly distributed across the team, underscoring the systematic advantage of cohesive, team-focused rugby over individual heroics.
