Plebs Cook Up A Stew-pendous Send Off

It was a proper rugby day in Uppsala — dry, sunny, and a far cry from the soggy weekend before when the Plebs made the long trek south to Lund.
With home advantage this time, and a point to prove after the away loss, Uppsala were fired up and ready to go.
And it showed.
Things kicked off brightly with Zeb slotting an early penalty to get the scoreboard ticking. The man clearly had his kicking boots on, because that was just the start of a strong day from the tee. Not long after, Miral danced down the touchline to finish off a lovely team move in the corner. A tough conversion from wide out? No problem for Zeb – straight over the upright.
Five minutes later, some slick play from the backs saw James touch down behind the posts for another well-worked try. Plebs were flying, the crowd buzzing, and Lugi were on the back foot. The first half capped off with some excellent forward play – Luca and Stew combining nicely to tear through Lugi's defense before setting up James again for his second in the corner. The conversion drifted just wide, but Uppsala were in complete control at 22–0 going into the break.
The second half, though, told a different story. Lugi came out swinging, their big forwards pounding away at the Plebs' line. After sustained pressure, they finally broke through to score under the posts. From there, it became a gritty, stop-start battle, with tempers flaring and bodies flying. Both sides defended hard, but it was Lugi who had the last word with a late try out wide.
Still, the Plebs took a deserved 29–12 win on the day — even if the overall tie went to Lugi on aggregate (41–36).
Despite that, it was a mighty performance to close out the season. And fittingly, it was the last dance for club legend Stew Devine, who's hanging up his boots after 17 straight seasons in Uppsala colours. A massive servant to the club, a warrior on the pitch, and a gent off it — he'll be sorely missed (though probably still found at the bar).
