Great team effort results in win for Uppsala B. Final score 34-14 to Uppsala.
On Sunday Uppsala B entertained Exiles 3 at Fyrisfjädern looking to build on their impressive win over Västerås the weekend before.
Some injuries and players unavailable meant that Uppsala went into the game with only two subs but the quality of the starting 15 had everyone brimming with optimism before kick-off.
Playing with energy and adventure Uppsala soon asserted their dominance over an Exiles team largely consisting of older experienced players in combination with a good number of up and coming juniors.
Playing with the wind in the first half Uppsala were able to put together long periods of pressure and by making good use of their forwards to draw in defenders the ball was often spread wide to where the space was created. 3 tries were scored By Uppsala in the first half with Exiles scoring 1 of their own through their impressive young number 8 who would go to get another in the second half.
First half score 17-7 to Uppsala.
The second half was much the same story and Uppsala were helped by Exiles giving away a lot of penalties. The last 10 mins of the game was played entirely in the Exiles 22 and Uppsala were rewarded for their fine display with a great win when the final whistle was blown.
All in all a very good performance by Uppsala who used their forwards and backs to good effect throughout the game. The fact that 6 tries were split evenly between backs and forwards says a lot about the team effort. Try of the day was scored by Moose who finished off a fine team effort involving countless phases of play and great interlinking between the forwards and the backs.
A big shout to Matzilla who played his first ever game of rugby and managed to dwarf every other player on the pitch and to Sam, Kris and Jorge who stepped up to play their second game of the weekend.
Players of the match were Jonathan for his two tries and Sebastian for his ferocious tackling throughout the game
